Meet Edward Jenkins
Democrat for Lake County Sheriff
Edward Jenkins has dedicated his life to serving and protecting our community. Growing up in Lake County, he understands the unique challenges our residents face and works to make our neighborhoods safer for everyone.
EXPERIENCE
With nearly 30 years of experience in law enforcement, Edward has a proven track record of integrity, fairness and accountability. He began in corrections, advanced through the ranks as a patrol officer and detective, and today serves as deputy chief of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office—managing a $60 million annual budget and more than 200 officers and staff.
COMMUNITIES FIRST
As an advocate for community policing, Edward believes in building strong relationships between law enforcement and the community. He knows that safety is not just about enforcing the law but also about listening to the concerns of the people he serves. He is passionate about implementing programs that address the root causes of crime, working towards mental health support, promoting youth outreach initiatives and more.

Edward’s vision for Lake County includes a sheriff’s office that prioritizes transparency, community involvement and investing in our law enforcement personnel. He is dedicated to ensuring that all voices are heard and represented, championing equitable treatment for all residents.
